Up Garage Issues Statement After California Debut: "Stop Bringing Us Catalytic Converters"
May 01, 2024

"We urge customers to refrain from bringing us catalytic converters, even if they're JDM."

GARDEN GROVE—Up Garage, Japan's largest chain of retail stores for second-hand car parts, has made its debut in California, marking a significant milestone for the company. However, the launch forced the retailer to immediately hold a press conference to release an urgent statement urging customers to refrain from bringing in catalytic converters.

Up Garage emphasized its commitment to providing high-quality used auto parts at extreme prices while supporting the recycling business. The company highlighted the importance of responsible recycling practices and expressed concern over the influx of catalytic converters being brought to their stores.

"We are excited to bring Up Garage to California and provide our customers with access to high-quality used auto parts," said a spokesperson for the company. "However, all we seem to getting is a giant influx of catalytic converters. We urge customers to refrain from bringing us catalytic converters, even if they're JDM. Just focus on other types of used auto parts, like literally anything else"

Up Garage's decision to issue this statement reflects the company's commitment to responsible recycling practices and its desire to maintain parts that draw at least tens of thousands of dollars.

"We understand the importance of recycling but these people are weird as hell," said the spokesperson. "We hope that by working together with our customers, we can stop these tweakers from bringing their junk here."

Overall, Up Garage's California debut represents an exciting opportunity for the company to expand its presence in the United States. While there may be challenges along the way, Up Garage remains committed to turning away catalytic converters, at least for now.
