George Russell Considers F1 Departure After Consulting MGK on Beef with Verstappen

"...possible move to WRC, IndyCar, or even NASCAR, where Verstappen's bullying would be minimal."

LONDON—George Russell is reportedly considering stepping away from Formula 1 after seeking advice from none other than Machine Gun Kelly on how to handle his growing tensions with Max Verstappen. According to sources close to the Mercedes driver, Russell initially wanted to consult Eminem—widely regarded as the rap beef authority—but was unavailable. Desperate for guidance, Russell instead turned to the next best (or at least available) option: MGK, a man best known for launching a feud against Eminem.

“Yeah, I mean, Max keeps pushing me around, and I figured I needed to go on the offensive,” Russell admitted. “Eminem was my first choice, obviously, but when I reached out, his team just sent back a single text: ‘You don’t want this.’”
That’s when Russell pivoted to MGK, whose history of beefs seemed like the best way of handling Verstappen. The two reportedly met in a dimly lit recording studio where MGK laid out a battle plan.

“First of all, I told George he needs to diss his incredible driving and how rich he is,” MGK said. “You can’t just let a guy walk all over you on track without clapping back.”

Russell, however, wasn’t sure. “You want me to compliment him?” he asked. “I’m not sure that will help. But MGK made a solid point—It doesn't matter if it works, Once I say it, I will switch genres and then he can't get me!"

That comment has fueled speculation that Russell might now be looking for an exit strategy from Formula 1. Some insiders claim he’s already exploring alternative careers, including a possible move to WRC, IndyCar, or even NASCAR, where Verstappen's bullying would be minimal.

Naturally, Verstappen was unfazed by the news. “George can do whatever he wants,” the reigning champion said. “If he wants to diss me, fine. I'll just have to come with a killshot. And if he wants to quit F1, fine—one less car in my way.”

As Russell weighs his options, MGK remains optimistic. “He’s got the look, he’s got the attitude. If driving doesn’t work out, he could always be a backup dancer for Megan Fox or something. Worked for me.”

For now, Russell remains in F1, but with Verstappen still running the show and MGK in his ear, his next move might just make his wish he talked to Eminem instead.
