Jay Leno's Only Wish: "I Wish I Had More Cars"

"...sadness can be felt through the echos in his 122,000 square foot-garage."

LOS ANGELES—Jay Leno, renowned comedian and car enthusiast, has a passion that sets him apart from many others in the entertainment industry: his love for cars. Leno's fascination with cars is legendary, with a collection that boasts over 21,000 vehicles ranging from vintage classics to modern supercars. When asked if there's anything he still wishes for, Leno often drops his comedian persona and gets serious for a second, saying, "I wish I had more cars."

For Leno, it's a struggle to have his stable be so limited. His collection, which includes iconic models like the McLaren P1 and the Lamborghini Miura, could be considered a collection of masterpieces but is it enough? Clearly not. It's a wonder Jay Leno is able to survive, his profound sadness can be felt through the echos in his 122,000 square foot-garage.

Leno sees cars as a bridge to the past, a way to connect with history and heritage. He once said, "Old cars are like a fine wine; they all have a story, I'm not being deprived of cars, I'm being deprived of more stories" underscoring his necessary need for more cars. He's turned his current collection into everything he could want out of those cars but that's the thing, it's just out of THOSE cars.

Despite his vast collection, Leno remains humble about his car collection, "You can't have too many cars; they're like potatoes, you can never have enough french fries." This down-to-earth attitude endears him to fans and fellow enthusiasts alike.
