New Auto Savings Account Converts Deposits Directly Into Car Parts, Cutting You Out as Middleman

"It’s like the account reads my mind."

SAN DIEGO—A groundbreaking new auto savings account is shaking up the car enthusiast community by eliminating a key step in their purchase process: themselves. The account, offered by BankPlus, converts cash deposits directly into car parts, bypassing traditional withdrawals or online shopping.

“When we noticed how much of our clients’ savings ended up going straight to aftermarket retailers, we thought, why not streamline it?” said Allison Tran, the product manager behind the innovative account. “Our system identifies top-trending car parts based on your vehicle and typical purchases, so each deposit goes directly toward what you’d likely buy anyway.”

The new account, called “AutoDirect,” partners with over 50,000 major automotive parts suppliers, making it possible to secure everything from basic maintenance items to high-end performance upgrades. Once a deposit is made, the account automatically places an order, sending the chosen part straight to the customer’s door. Enthusiasts can customize which types of parts the account should prioritize, whether it’s body kits, tires, or even audio systems.

Some are thrilled with the streamlined process. “It’s kind of amazing. I was saving up for coilovers, and after a few deposits, they just showed up at my house,” said Mars Santi, a longtime tuner. “It’s like the account reads my mind.”

Others, however, aren’t as convinced. “I appreciate the concept, but It didn't leave enough money for rent this month,” shared Javi Orz, a classic car restorer. “Sometimes, I like to leave enough for rent.”

Despite mixed reactions, BankPlus reports high demand for AutoDirect accounts, especially among younger enthusiasts looking to automate their spending. With this innovative approach, the bank is tapping into a new wave of car enthusiasts who value both speed and convenience while embracing the tradition of irresponsible spending demonstrated by older generations of car fans.
