Instagram Algorithm Discovered to Favor Car Enthusiasts by 34% (Unless It's You)
April 18, 2024

"Where's my 34%? I have the best content out there!"

MENLO PARK—Instagram's algorithm has been found to show a bias towards content from car enthusiasts, favoring them by as much as 34% compared to other users. That is unless it's your post; yours will take hours to make, and then you will get 3 likes and a comment by a bot asking you to promote with them.

One Instagram spokesperson praised car enthusiasts, stating, "We've noticed that car enthusiasts tend to drive a significant amount of traffic on the app, engaging with a wide range of content. As a result, our algorithm may prioritize their posts, some of them, but not yours."

To many this is a confusing discovery. Sarah, a regular Instagram user with a modest following, expressed her frustration, saying, "I've been posting regularly for months, but I barely get any likes or comments. Where's my 34%? I have the best content out there!"

Another user, Alex, echoed similar sentiments, saying, "I put my race car footage up all the time, but it's disheartening to see my posts not getting the attention they deserve. I have the best content out there!"

Despite these concerns, Instagram has not made any official statement regarding changes to its algorithm. Users are advised to continue creating engaging content and interacting with their followers to improve their visibility on the platform.

While the discovery of the algorithm's bias towards car enthusiasts may not make sense to most users, it also highlights the importance of creating content that resonates with a larger audience. As Instagram continues to evolve, it remains crucial for users to adapt their strategies to ensure their voices are heard in the digital landscape. But only as long as it's making Instagram, hella money.
