LOS ANGELES—Chaos erupted in the local Honda enthusiast community this weekend when a group searching for a stolen Honda Civic discovered that their own Hondas had also been stolen during the search. The bizarre turn of events has left the group questioning not only their reliance on The Club but also every other life choice.
“We were just trying to do the right thing,” said Diego Ramirez, the self-appointed leader of the search team. “The homie’s Civic got jacked at the mall parking lot, so we all mobbed to find it. Next thing you know, we come back to the lot, and—boom!—all our Civics are gone.”
According to eyewitnesses, the group of amateur vigilantes had left their Hondas parked together at what seemed like a rendezvous point. Their distinct lawnmower-esque exhausts and colorful decals made them easy to spot. “We basically led the thieves to a buffet,” said Ricardo Vargas, a fellow searcher. “We searched for a whole 15 minutes. Turns out that’s all the time they needed.”
Local police, while sympathetic, couldn’t be bothered to help. “This is a classic case of thieves targeting the easiest marks,” said Officer Steven Smith. “A bunch of tin-can Hondas parked with The Club and Rays Wheels? It’s like leaving cookies out for Santa.”
Despite their losses, the group remains delusionally optimistic about recovering their vehicles. “We’re already organizing another search,” said Ramirez. “This time, we’ll bring a less desirable car, like an Audi or something.”
While the stolen cars have yet to be recovered, the incident has sparked heated debates, with many questioning whether Honda theft deterrence should be taught in high school. As for the thieves, they remain at large—possibly using the Civics to steal merchandise from big rigs..
