Man Buys Dream Car, Immediately Starts Dreaming About Next Dream Car

"...I think there's something wrong with me… I’m not really sure yet."

GARDENA—Jake Simmons, a 34-year-old car enthusiast from Phoenix, recently achieved a lifelong goal when he purchased his dream car, a brand-new 2024 BMW M3 Touring. But mere moments after finalizing the purchase, Jake found himself contemplating what his next dream car might be.

“All I've ever wanted the M3 Touring,” Jake said, admiring the sleek lines of his new ride. “But now that I have it, I can't stop thinking about what’s next.  I think there's something wrong with me… I’m not really sure yet.”

For Jake, the thrill of car ownership doesn’t seem to lie solely in the acquisition of a prized vehicle but in acquiring many prized vehicles. His friends and family aren’t surprised by this rapid shift in focus.

“Jake’s been talking about getting the M3 Touring since I met him,” said his wife, Emily. “But I knew as soon as he got it, he’d start looking for the next one because he's also been talking about thousands of other dreams car since I met him.”

Jake’s obsession with cars is something shared with many enthusiasts. For them, the joy of owning a dream car is often replaced with the joy of owning many dream cars.

“Honestly, I think it’s ignoring my bank account that I enjoy most,” Jake admitted. “There’s always another car out there, and that lets me consider cars like the Porsche GT3 RS.”

As Jake prepares to take his M3 Touring out for its first spin, one can’t help but wonder how long it will be before the next dream car takes center stage in his mind. The journey may never truly be over for enthusiasts like Jake—it’s just part of the drive.
