The Key to Racing Cars: Either the One They Come With or a Push Button
October 12, 2024

"Some of the best drivers I know agree that without the key, they would have lost their races."

DALLAS—In the high-stakes world of racing, drivers and teams are constantly searching for any advantage, whether it’s aerodynamics, tire choice, or fine-tuning the engine. But the key that often goes unnoticed is something much simpler. According to some experts, it's either the original key or just the push-to-start button that truly sets racers up for success.

Racing veteran Marcos Santos shared his thoughts on the topic. "I’ve been racing for years, and the key has always ensured I'm successful on the race track," Santos said. "Some of the best drivers I know agree that without the key, they would have lost their races."

However, not everyone agrees. Javier Ortiz, a renowned racing technician, believes Marcos is insane. "The key to racing cars is your livery. Everyone knows this. "

Whether the key to racing cars is the original key or a push-to-start button, one thing is certain: starting a race requires turning the car on. The key can make all the difference.
