Toto Wolff Files Complaint with FIA on Ferrari for Annoying Hamilton on the Radio

"I would never do something like that to Lewis."

MELBOURNE—The 2025 Formula 1 season is off to a chaotic start as Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has officially filed a complaint with the FIA, accusing Ferrari of "annoying, insulting, abusive and repeated radio interference" aimed at "his bff" Lewis Hamilton during the Australian Grand Prix.

Ferrari, notorious for overcomplicating their race strategies, reportedly overwhelmed Hamilton with completely necessary mid-race radio information—despite him just wanting to casually putt around a Ferrari.

“It was absolutely unacceptable,” Wolff said in a post-race interview. “Lewis was simply trying to drive, and Ferrari kept bombarding him with ‘K1, K1, no wait, K1 again.’ This is harassment. I would never do something like that to Lewis. You hear that Lewis?”

Hamilton, caught in the crossfire of Ferrari’s fantastic Italian accents, admitted the radio messages were “mentally exhausting.”

“It was nonstop,” Hamilton said. “I’m out there trying to focus, and I keep hearing necessary race data and ‘Just trying to help.’ Then they’d say the same thing again, and do it again five laps later. I swear they were just messing with me.”

The FIA, now reviewing Wolff’s complaint, has yet to determine whether Ferrari’s actions were deliberate sabotage or just another chapter in their long history of self-inflicted confusion.

“We take all complaints seriously,” said FIA spokesperson Laurent Dupont. “However, we must also consider the possibility that Ferrari simply doesn’t know who they’re talking to.”

Meanwhile, sources inside Mercedes report that Wolff is already pushing for a new rule: mandatory special treatment of Lewis Hamilton—specifically to “increase our potential to have him back.”
